The biggest challenges when implementing integrated logistics systems

Reported by Olli Benett | June 10th, 2026 @ 11:03 AM

Implementing integrated logistics systems can bring major efficiency gains, but it also comes with a set of complex obstacles. One of the most common issues is poor data integration between different platforms such as ERP, WMS, and TMS. Many companies still operate on legacy systems that don’t communicate well with newer tools, which creates delays, errors, and a lack of real-time visibility across the supply chain.

Another major issue is organizational resistance to change. Employees often need time to adapt to new workflows, and without proper training, even the best systems can be underused or misconfigured. On top of that, high implementation costs and the need for continuous maintenance can slow down adoption, especially for mid-sized businesses.

When discussing integrated logistics challenges, it becomes clear that success depends not only on technology itself but also on how well a company prepares its processes, people, and data structure for a fully connected logistics environment.
